My Christmas and New Year

My Christmas this year has been very exciting and happy. I was able to spend my Christmas with my family and relatives in Butuan. We also had a huge feast. All the foods were very delicious. Well, I ate so much because this happens only once a year. Me and my relatives also played games on Christmas. We were all very happy.

My New Year was kind of boring because it was raining outside and I can't play outside at all. Me and my family only ate sweets and watched television because of the rain. This celebration of the new year has been the only boring celebration I have ever had. But still, I am very happy I was able to spend the new year with my family.

Writing Exercises

This week, our teacher gave us an exercise on writing. However, it is different from the past writing activities that I encountered because its not just one person who does the writing but everyone in the group. We were asked to write one sentence each and then we pass it to our group mate without taking to each other under time pressure. All of us were really panicking and thinking of sentences to complete our paragraph.

After all of us had finished writing, our teacher asked us to read it in front of the whole class! When we heard everyone's writings, we were all laughing together.

The activity was very funny and I hope to see much more funny at the same time learning activities in the future.

My Second Week in English 2

My second week in English 2 has been a bit busy. We were given assignments, projects, etc. We were given a project on finding examples of different paragraph developments. Its really difficult on finding them. It took me and my partner quite some time. Also, we have to paste the cut-outs on a bondpaper and make it as neat and beautiful as our minds can imagine. Here, our creativity skills are tested. All in all, we were able to finish our project in time, and hopefully it will be successful.

My First Week in English 2

My first week in English 2 has been very exciting. I was really looking forward to our classes in English 2. Our first activity was to choose a topic and to cluster it, then choose our specific topic. The topic our group made was "The Effect of Facebook to the Lifestyle of its Users". And once we had chosen our specific topic, we were instructed to make a thesis statement out of the specific topic we chose. Our thesis statement was "Facebook can cause time mismanagement to its users". Its really a very appropriate topic for us because we ourselves can relate to our topic. I am really looking forward to our term paper.

What I think and feel towards writing in English

Writing in English has been taught to me since elementary school until college. As expected, I am getting rather expectant of it in every English subject. Since elementary, I am asked to write a formal writing that is based on the theme and passing it to the teacher. Over the years, I have developed the feeling that writing is a nuisance to me. Everytime I am instructed to write, I feel obligatory because it is needed in order to pass English. However, my parents made me realize that writing is beneficial in many ways and I should not take it as a nuisance because it can help me deal with my future, my career and my life someday. So, today, when I am instructed to write, I feel happy because I can improve my writing and in some way secure my future.
